What could be better??? Especially for an almost 2 year old boy??? This weekend started with Colin's cousin Sydney's birthday party which included both a bouncy house and a Hoodsie Cup - Colin is still deciding which was his favorite. I was helping by handing out spoons to all the kids and there's Colin sitting at the birthday table trying desperately to open the ice cream container. He was using his teeth, trying to pull at it with his hands, but he just couldn't do it...then I helped and he was in heaven! I don't think he cared much about the High School Musical birthday cake (yes, that was the theme!)...he just looked so big, sitting at the table with all the "big" kids...the bouncy house was a hit, except that the birthday girl got stung by a bee for the first time in her life at 1:00 exactly just as the first guests were arriving. It turned out OK though! Then, on Monday we hit the Topsfield Fair with Daddy and Nana. We thought we would be smart by going on a Monday morning, beat the crowds...well we were wrong, it was Senior Citizens Day which meant dodging a ton of wheelchairs, but we had a blast, Colin absolutely loved it! He still can't decide if sitting on the tractors or petting the sheep were his favorite (don't worry Michael and Shelby we had a face mask for him!)...anyhow another great fall weekend, and hard to believe that in 23 days he'll be "2"!!!

Apple Picking!

We spent Saturday apple picking with our good friends the Millers. It was a great time. Nathan and Colin loved picking (and eating!) the apples, and Colin quickly learned that we pick the apples from the trees not the ground :)...in his words while pointing to the ground "apples, yucky, no eat"! We saw the animals, played on the playground, and had lunch...and best of all had some yummy cider donuts! We ran out of time, so we have to go back to pick our pumpkins and for a hayride on the tractor...We love fall! This weekend will be a trip to the annual Topsfield Fair!

Go Speed Racer!!!

Colin's new bike...he loves it...he got on it today and began traveling down the sidewalk saying "DD", "DD", which in Colin language means Dunkin' Donuts! Too funny, we better watch out or before we know it he'll be off in flash to Dunkin' Donuts for munchkins!

Rainy Day!

So what to do on a rainy day??? Go to Boston to see Justin Roberts??? Nope, too rainy, but an indoor playground was loads of fun! Charlotte and Colin had a blast and Mommy and Shelby got to spend some time together catching up! Both kids did great and had fun!

Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Whatcha Gonna Do...

This Saturday Colin and Mommy went to my brother's police department's "Family Fun Day"...it was great, despite the extreme heat! Colin loved the SWAT team truck and the cool ATV's they had. He could even climb inside the truck, but the seat on the ATV was just too hot to sit on...he loved his hot dog and chips and even got to throw some baseballs in the pitching machine game. We had a great time, but wished it could have been cooler for everyone, especially Uncle Michael who was a grilling machine! Thanks Uncle Michael for a great time!!!!

Back to School!

So keeping in tradition I bought Colin a new pair of school shoes...really just some new sneakers since he outgrew his others...however he will not wear them...he refuses and only wants his Crocs...although he does get very excited when he sees the new sneakers in his room, knowing they are new...so this has been the only time he has willingly wanted to put them on - when he was in his pajamas and was ready for bed! I hope the Crocs company comes out with some winter boots!

Summer's End!

It's so hard to believe that it's September...what a fast, but wonderful summer. He has just grown up so much, he is talking so much, running everywhere, and just so independent...he's not my little baby anymore! To wrap it up we traveled to Newburyport to this great park by the water on Saturday and Monday we traveled to the beach for the morning. Of course I forgot my camera on both outings, but luckily got some pictures Monday afternoon of Colin playing in the pool...I love September and can't wait to do all the "fall stuff" with Colin this year - apple picking, hayrides, pumpkin picking, going to the farm - of course I am sure his favorite will be the homemade cider donuts!!!!!
